SIGNAL Magazine is AFCEA's monthly international journal. Government, industry, and military professionals in 80 countries study it. SIGNAL keeps readers current on state-of-the-art technology, Information Technology (IT) news, international events, chapter news, and defense IT system requirements. Special issues focus on Electronic Warfare, signal security, and intelligence systems, space, NATO IT, tactical communications, and other timely topics
AFCEA Professional Development Center offers members and other C4I professionals formal instruction and informal interaction in an educational environment. Approximately 25 classes, both unclassified and classified, are scheduled each year.
The AFCEA Educational Foundation and chapter's educational programs disburse more than one half million dollars each year in fellowships, scholarships, grants, science fair awards, and military prizes.
The AFCEA Career Planning Center is operated as a service to members providing job fairs and career transitioning seminars. AFCEA is an avenue for younger members to stay abreast of rising trends in technology.
The monthly lunches and other AFCEA functions, held throughout the year, provides and opportunity for military members to meet and talk with IT corporate sponsors. The local Scott - St. Louis Chapter currently has more then 40 Corporate Sponsors, from all aspects of the IT community. We work with them on all our various endeavors.
The Dell Corporation gives a 10 % discount to AFCEA members.
$35.00 a year. $15.00 for E-5 & below (but for a short time, if you're an E-5 or below, the Scott-STL AFCEA chapter will pay for the 2nd year's membership!) Multi-year memberships are also available and are cheaper in the long run.
The Drawbacks are NONE! You can be as active or inactive in the chapter as you like. We have lots of opportunity to volunteer for things and lots of ways to get involved. Volunteers are welcome in supporting our conferences and other activities.
