Your TechNet Mid-America Planning Committee is pleased to announce the "Name TechNet Mid-America 2009” Contest. While brainstorming your best ideas, keep in mind that our conference will be co-sponsored by both the local Scott-St. Louis Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association and National Defense Transportation Association Chapters.
Use your creativity to propose a theme. Do you have a theme that is particularly relevant to the incoming Administration, the new budget strategy for the GWOT in light of the current financial conditions, the impact of volatile fossil fuel costs and their impact to the cost of transportation, the alternative fuel strategy for the DoD, the communication, logistics, transportation and distribution challenges facing U.S. government agencies, the USTRANSCOM Year of Visibility, or the continuing emphasis on focused logistics with USTRANSCOM?
Send your proposed theme to DRovenger@TechnologyForums.com by the close of business on December 31, 2008. Our planning committee will consider all submitted themes and announce a winner by January 15, 2009. In time for Valentine's Day, the winner will receive dinner for two at the fantastic Porter's Restaurant in Collinsville and a one-night stay at the adjacent Holiday Inn!
TECHNET 2009 is scheduled for 27, 28, and 29 July 2009. Mark your calendars now!
Since Scott AFB is becoming the premier hub within the Department of Defense for information technology and distribution innovation, The NDTA and AFCEA chapters are coming together to provide a synergistic view of current and future states of logistics information technology. Typically, over 700 military and civilian professionals attend this conference, and it is truly a blend of information technology and distribution. The conference will host information technology and distribution professionals from across the country that will be seeking a better understanding of the issues facing both disciplines.
The January 2009 Luncheon (15 Jan) will be followed by a Career Fair. Please stick around after the luncheon to meet and greet with members of the industry. Starting at 1315 hours, the Career Fair will be held at the Scott Club, so there's no need to even leave the building after the luncheon. See you there!
Please join Quilogy & the Small Business Committee of the St. Louis-Scott Air Force Base chapter of AFCEA for a wine & beer-tasting, networking event on 29 July 2008. $20 admission to benefit Fisher House, providing free or low-cost lodging to Veterans & military families receiving treatment at military medical centers.
